The Solstice Pilgrimages

Celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse with two unforgettable pilgrimages:

🌙 Solstice Eve – Stonehenge Sunset
Journey to this ancient circle to witness the sun dip behind the stones. A moment of connection, intention, and awe.

🌞 Solstice Morning – Glastonbury Tor Sunrise
Rise before dawn to greet the new day atop the Tor. Experience sound healing, gentle movement, and the magic of the first light on the longest day of the year.

These experiences are the heart of our retreat — powerful, symbolic, and soul-stirring.

Our Home: Lubborn House

Tucked away down a quiet country lane in the heart of Somerset, Lubborn House is a haven of warmth, character, and countryside magic. Surrounded by acres of mature gardens, this charming country home offers space to gather and space to breathe — where ancient trees whisper in the wind and the firelight invites stories to unfold.

Inside, you’ll find elegant rooms filled with light, a grand kitchen for shared meals, cozy firesides for reflection, and a beautiful studio space for movement and ceremony. Step outside to discover walled gardens, a fire pit beneath the stars, and secret corners perfect for stillness or connection.

Just five miles from mystical Glastonbury, Lubborn House is the perfect sanctuary for our solstice retreat — a place where comfort meets enchantment, and the wild edges of Somerset invite you home to yourself.

Our home for the week is a luxurious countryside retreat house, with 7 bedrooms (plus 1 for the facilitators) and 4 bathrooms.

Bedroom 1

Bedroom 1 has a super king bed and woodpecker wallpaper. There are a number of woodpeckers living in the Lubborn trees, which you will likely see and hear 'knocking' during your stay.

Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a fine view over the main lawn, which gets morning sun.

Bedroom 3 with window onto the main lawn. Shared occupancy with two single beds.

Bedroom 4 with king bed, original elm floor, ensuite shower room and lovely big window onto the main lawn.

*Bedroom 5 is for the facillitators

Bedroom 6 is in the oldest part of the house. It a has a king bed and a large en suite bathroom.

Bedroom 7 has a single bed.

Bedroom 8, up the attic stairs, has two single beds and a third ‘day bed’ (in the foreground), so the room can sleep three.

  • I had the most wonderful time on retreat with Clare. It was my first yoga retreat and it has set a high standard. Clare was a warm and inspiring host. The food was amazing. I was nervous about trying a retreat on my own. But the whole experience was wonderful and felt very natural. The yoga, sound baths, and cocoa and fire ceremonies were all authentically delivered, the whole group were made to feel safe and all experiences were inclusive as well as immersive. It was a real healing experience

  • A wonderful escape from everyday life. I received a warm welcome and the cottage was lovely; clean, cosy and beautifully decorated. The classes were great; excellent instruction, loads of guidance and new learning. Clare was a brilliant instructor for yogis of all levels. Adaptions were made for those of us with injuries and there was no judgement. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it! I will certainly be booking to come back. Keep up the good work!

  • My experience with Clare and her team were utterly phenomenal. Right from the moment I arrived, Clare was welcoming and thoughtful. This was my first ever yoga retreat so I was unsure of what to expect for the weekend. The quality of the healing, nourishment, workshops and lasting tools was exceptional. Clare was also extremely respectful when I needed solitude versus group activity over the weekend and I didn’t ever feel pressure to participate if it wasn’t right for me. Two weeks after returning home, I still feel the radiant glow that I left the weekend with, which is indicative of the quality of the retreat
